In recent years, the general price of cocaine has decreased. While this is great for the people making money off of selling the cocaine, it is bad news for the the users of the drug and the society that surrounds them. With more cocaine availability and a lower price, there are less obstacles for people who want to get the drug. With fewer obstacles, more people are abusing the drug and finding that they have a cocaine or crack addiction. As recently as 2008, there have been over 9,800 people admitted to treatment centers for this type of addiction. This is a staggering number, as it is nearly as many people as were admitted for marijuana use. The positive side to this is that all those people came in for treatment.
